Grenzebach yet again recognized as Top Employer
Grenzebach is again “Top Employer DONAURIES”. The award was presented by the economic association “Wirtschaftsförderverband Donauries e.V.” on Wednesday in the city hall of Monheim. “To continue to carry the title Top Employer Donauries is a great recognition for our company that offers attractive tasks for numerous occupational groups in the field of automation and digitization. We operate within an international network – with the award we especially feel our efforts for training and further eduction in health promotion as well as our social commitment in the region appreciated”, says Barbara Mayr, Senior Manager HR Business Partner at Grenzebach.
Currently a total of 70 apprentices in Hamlar
The Grenzebach Group is a global, yet family-owned company with round about 1,500 employees. Currently Grenzebach is training a total of 70 apprentices in different career fields. An internationally well positioned company with two main locations in Germany, Hamlar and Bad Hersfeld, as well as subsidiaries in the United States, China, Brazil, India and Russia, Grenzebach inspires school graduates for a career start in Hamlar. Grenzebach also frequently goes to schools in the region to meet with students.
School partnerships a good starting point
“Many years ago we were the first company in the region to start a longstanding partnership with the Heilig Kreuz Realschule in Donauwörth to improve technical equipment, get students enthusiastic about technology and make occupational routine more accessible to them”, says Barbara Mayr. “Within this partnership we have realized numerous projects together.” For many years now Grenzebach also supports the Donauwörth Gymnasium (high school), the Realschule (secondary school) Rain and the FOS/BOS Donauwörth. Back in 2018 the Chamber of Industry and Commerce granted the Wilhelm-Hübsch award for especially successful school partnerships to Grenzebach and the Heilig Kreuz Donauwörth secondary school.
Commitment to dual curriculum
Grenzebach opens many doors to those who are interested in internships, vacation jobs or a bachelor thesis. The company also collaborates with vocational and technical schools as well as universities. “We are co-founders at the TCW in Nördlingen and have supported its development over the years to bring highly qualified education into our region and make young people want to stay”, says Barbara Mayr. Grenzebach was also the first company in the region to introduce a dual curriculum.

Grenzebach holds many opportunities for young professionals as well as experienced specialists, emphasizes Philipp Marb, Electrical Engineer and Product Manager: “Experience innovation at Grenzebach. Great emphasis on health promotion
To keep our employees healthy, the management board puts great emphasis on health promotion. For instance, everybody at Grenzebach has the option to lease a bicycle or an E-Bike for discounted rates. A company physician, an emergency response officer as well as a homeopathic practitioner are also available to the staff.
Live out values with social commitment
Grenzebach is a value oriented Company and social commitment is very important. Apprentices at Grenzebach grow up with those values and part of their education is the social project “Grenzebach helps” (“Grenzebach helps”). Over the last years they committed their time to the Bäumenheim Lebenshilfe, the deaf people's association in Donau-Ries/Dillingen e.V and a class for refugees at the Donauwörth vocational school. Furthermore, there are continuous annual donations to non-profit associations in the region.
Barbara Mayr summarizes: “The award as Top Employer is a great motivation to all of us and an incentive to improve every day, to promote education and training, health promotion and social commitment”. Back in 2016 Grenzebach was first recognized as Top Employer DONAURIES and will now carry the award another three years.
