Grenzebach wins major contract with the XINFA Group for the manufacturing of gypsum plasterboards
- XINFA has ordered two additional production lines for the manufacturing of gypsum plasterboards from Grenzebach
- Grenzebach BSH strengthens the company's global market presence in Asia and has positioned themselves as a reliable and secure employer in the long term through capacity utilization
- Grenzebach has already supplied two production lines to XINFA in 2021
BAD HERSFELD, JIASHAN/Germany, China. Grenzebach BSH, a leading global supplier of process and production technologies, has received a significant order from the XINFA Group for the supply of two plasterboard lines to XINFA's existing production plant at its headquarters in Chiping-Liaocheng, Shandong Province, China. XINFA, one of the world's leading aluminum manufacturers, has expanded their daily production to approx. 830,000 m² with this plant extension. This will make it the world's largest plasterboard production plant at a single location and is the second time that XINFA has relied on Grenzebach's expertise.
Power for the industry
XINFA Group runs its own coal-fired power plants to cover the high electricity requirements of its aluminum plants. FGD gypsum is produced during the purification of the exhaust gases. Using the Grenzebach equipment, XINFA has been able to recycle this gypsum to produce plasterboard since 2021. The Chinese company has now expanded its capacities and ordered two more plasterboard lines from Grenzebach. Robert Brier, CEO of Grenzebach BSH, is very pleased about the order.
“The project demonstrates how close we are to our customers and our competitiveness, as well as our innovative strength in supplying manufacturing plants with a focus on sustainability aspects. By recycling the FGD gypsum, we are supporting our customer's circular economy, while at the same time using the electricity generated and the waste heat from the power plants to operate the gypsum dryers and systems.”
Follow-up order for Grenzebach
It is the second time that XINFA has commissioned Grenzebach. The proximity of Grenzebach's location in Jishan, China, the Grenzebach Machinery (Jiashan), to the customer once again played a key role in the successful conclusion of the new contract. Above all, due to the excellent cooperation between the Grenzebach colleagues from China and Germany, the first major order from XINFA in 2021 could be successfully implemented within a remarkably short time, enabling the aluminum manufacturer to make an impressive debut in the plasterboard market with a total annual production output of 120 million m² of plasterboard.
Strong for the regions
“This order is an important milestone for Grenzebach and will additionally boost our engineering capacity in Germany and our production capacity in China for the coming year,” Brier says. The increased capacity utilization in both sites will enable Grenzebach to act as a reliable employer in the long term and thus promote local economic stability. “This is how we create a solid foundation for sustainable growth and jobs,” he adds.
