Do you know what packages, windows and electric cars have in common? No? Then join us and discover amazing things in your training at Grenzebach: Our Automated Guided Vehicles ensure that parcels arrive safely and on time. The chance you are looking outside through a pane of glass manufactured on a Grenzebach line is more than 50 percent. If an electric vehicle drives past you, it is very likely that the battery tray has been welded using Grenzebach's friction stir welding technology. Fascinating, isn't it? And we are just getting started...

Do you want to become a part of this amazing world and immerse yourself in our various tasks? Start into the future with us! With over ten apprenticeships in the technical, industrial and IT sectors, we offer you a wide range of career options.

The great thing is: You will never be alone. Trainees are an important part of our group of companies. Therefore, experienced trainers, mentors and, of course, each and every one of your colleagues will be there to support you at all times. After your apprenticeship, we will be happy to welcome you as a new employee at Grenzebach with your acquired knowledge and skills.

AMONG US

Trainees are among themselves at the training center for mechanical and electrical professions at the Hamlar site. This is where they can exchange ideas, learn from each other and prepare themselves for their exams. Our experienced trainers are always there to help the trainees.

In Bad Hersfeld, our trainees can participate in research projects in the Technology Center and experience up close how granite, for example, is ground into fine powder for paints. Trainees will find the latest technology and machines spread across several training rooms, enabling them to apply the knowledge they have learned on a small scale. Highly popular for projects: our in-house 3D printer!

DOING GOOD TOGETHER

Living their values and showing social commitment: that’s what apprentices in their second year of training do with a special project in which they decide on a charity program in the region and realize it sustainably.

Helping people has a long tradition within the Grenzebach Group. Therefore, we also encourage our future employees to engage in social activities in the regions where our sites are located and beyond: For example, by selling regional vegetables, building birdhouses, or constructing a bench for the Bavarian Red Cross.

Journeyman celebration

Completing the apprenticeship is properly celebrated at Grenzebach. The graduates receive their IHK (Chamber of Industry and Commerce) and training certificates. A joint meal with trainees and our CEO Dr. Steven Althaus completes the celebrations.

Apprentices Welcome Day

On this day, all new trainees are being welcomed to the company. They are introduced and their parents get to know the company and the management. Experienced trainees will present their professions.

Apprentice Award

We acknowledge social commitment. This is why we grant an award every year during the apprentice workshop in the fall. The prizes are coupons and event tickets.

Trainee excursion

How does a drying plant work? What happens to the finished friction stir welding gantry machines? On our regular trainee excursions, we visit plants, companies and partner businesses to find answers to these questions.

We are partners of many schools and universities

School partnerships

GROWING TOGETHER

Every training starts at the very beginning: We are a training company and maintain partnerships with many schools and universities in the regions where our sites are located. We honor outstanding achievements in the fields of mathematics, computer science, nature and technology by awarding various prizes.

Grenzebach supports schools by improving their technical equipment, organizing trips and excursions to Grenzebach, as well as offering spaces for mandatory internships. We are also co-founder and supporter of the TCW (Technology Center of Western Bavaria) in Nördlingen.

This is what trainees and former trainees say about their apprenticeship at Grenzebach

FIRST HAND

“ Diversity is an integral part of my training at Grenzebach. Each time I transfer between the departments, I learn something new and get to know another side of Grenzebach and the company better. From day one, I was welcomed with open arms. The complete 'Grenzebach' package never fails to impress me! ”

Sarah Steinberger

Apprenticeship as Industrial Management Assistant 1st year of apprenticeship

“ I feel very welcome at Grenzebach. The colleagues here are friendly and will help you immediately if you don't understand something. I also never get bored. I learn something new every day. At the same time, I have my own tasks for which I am responsible. I feel the team trusts me and appreciates my work. ”

Theresa Kirschenmann

Apprenticeship as Industrial Management Assistant 1st year of apprenticeship

“ I started my career at Grenzebach 15 years ago as an industrial mechanics apprentice. Now I'm head of Mechanical Engineering. I have always been given new perspectives. Because that is the great thing about Grenzebach: There are endless ways to develop. ”

Michael Müller

Head of Mechanical Engineering

“ For me, Grenzebach is very multi-faceted. I enjoy working here because I have responsible tasks, meet new colleagues every day, and am always busy and on the move. Grenzebach is a large company in which you can help in various departments and always learn something - and at the same time, it is a family business. I really like this mix! ”

Sophia Zeller

Apprenticeship as Industrial Management Assistant 1st year of apprenticeship

“ Grenzebach was the first company where I did an internship. What can I say: From day one, I was amazed by the work, the people and the atmosphere here. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Even after having completed my apprenticeship, I still enjoy coming to work every day. ”

Noori Abdulhamed

Application Engineer

“ I have a lot of freedom during my training at Grenzebach and feel a strong sense of team spirit among my colleagues. I can also apply the things I learn and do here in my private life. For instance, when I designed a special spare part for my father's vintage car and printed it out on the Grenzebach 3D printer. What a great project! ”

Jason Schäfer

Apprenticeship as Drafting Technician 3rd year of apprenticeship

“ During my apprenticeship I already made my way through all manufacturing departments. After that, I was able to gain valuable work experience in final assembly and mechanical processing. I repeatedly assisted in numerous customer projects at our worldwide locations. Now I am in charge of the final assembly and I like to share my acquired knowledge and experience every day, with young and old. ”

Michael Dumberger

Assembly Manager Operations

“ New challenges must be mastered every day in the area of research and development. I enjoy doing this because I like researching things independently and developing solutions. My work is also highly valued, and I can always count on the support of my colleagues. The greatest reward is when the developed idea works at the end of the day. ”

Simon Achner

Apprenticeship as IT specialist for Application Development 2nd year of apprenticeship

“ I assisted at the reception desk during my internship. The work involved a lot of different tasks and I got to know a lot of nice colleagues. The internationality, the friendly atmosphere and the diversity made me want to work here. Now, I'm training to be an office manager. I'm happy about that! ”

Malwina Swiatek

Apprenticeship as Office Manager 1st year of apprenticeship

“ From day one, I was actively involved in everything here. I really like it! Currently, I'm in the assembly department. At the end of my apprenticeship, I'll move to the welding shop. After that, I will have experienced all the stages of production, from the raw material to the final machine. I am looking forward to it! ”

Niklas Schombacher
