Grenzebach expands its portfolio by adding its own special hammer mill with air classifier
- Grenzebach buys hammer mill and classifier technology from FAM Minerals & Mining GmbH
- Both components are to be built by Grenzebach now
- Portfolio expansion to strengthen market position and core competencies
BAD HERSFELD/Germany. Grenzebach, a leading supplier of solutions for the gypsum industry, is pleased to announce that it has expanded its know-how and can now supply its own special hammer mill. The hammer mill is the centerpiece of a calcination system, and so far had been sourced from FAM Minerals & Mining GmbH (a member of the BEUMER group and a company of high standing in this line of business) in Magdeburg, Germany. But now Grenzebach has acquired the know-how and technology from FAM in order to build the hammer mill itself.
The technology was sold to Grenzebach after FAM had been taken over by Beumer and the FAM portfolio was reshaped.
“We are constantly looking for ways to optimize our customer orientation. That is why we were very interested in expanding our portfolio and ultimately acquired the technology.”
Sebastian Schuch, Sales Manager at Grenzebach, adds: “In addition to the hammer mill we have also acquired the technology of the dynamic classifier from FAM. The classifier separates the ground and calcined material into fine-grained finished product and coarse returns.” Both components are indispensable for a high-quality calcination process.
Strengthened market position
With its own calcining mill, the classifier, and the extended know-how Grenzebach strengthens its position as a leading supplier of solutions for the gypsum industry. “We are proud that we can now offer our customers the special hammer mill technology as a Grenzebach brand. Moreover, Grenzebach will continue to further develop the calcination technology in the coming years,” concludes Dennis Schattauer, Sales Director Building Materials Technology at Grenzebach. The focus in these activities will be on energy consumption, carbon reduction and the digitization of the process.
